“KAMAZ” conducts tests of electric buses in Turkmenistan

“KAMAZ” delivered two electric buses and an ultra-fast charging station to Turkmenistan for testing equipment in the Turkmen climate. This was announced during the Turkmen-Russian forum in Ashgabat by the General Director of “KAMAZ” PJSC Sergey Kogogin.

“Speaking about the possibility of supplying the latest technology, I would like to note that “KAMAZ” is the leader in Russia in the production of electric buses. <...> Today we are pleased to offer this technique to Turkmenistan, to provide opportunities to evaluate all its advantages. Two “KAMAZ” electric buses and an ultra-fast charging station were delivered to test equipment in the climate of Turkmenistan. This latest equipment was presented to the hyakim of Ahal velayat, the “Turkmenawtotransport” Agency and the Passenger Motor Transport Enterprise of Ashgabat. <…> “KAMAZ” is ready to supply electric buses in the volumes necessary for Turkmenistan”, said the head of “KAMAZ”.

Kogogin also noted that at the moment about 800 electric buses have already been produced, which run along the routes of Moscow. In addition, there is a test operation of buses in other Russian cities.

He also noted that the Turkmen market is one of the priorities for “KAMAZ”.

“One of the proofs of fruitful cooperation is the successful execution of a major contract for the supply of 1982 vehicles. In total, over the years of cooperation, more than 10 thousand units of equipment for various purposes have been delivered to Turkmenistan”, Kogogin emphasized.

In addition, he confirmed that in 2023 “KAMAZ” plans to open a service center in the Dashoguz velayat.

“4 car centers are already operating, the fifth one will be commissioned this year”, Sergey Kogogin said.
