Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to expand the fleet of Turkmenistan
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to expand the national marine fleet. Relevant instructions were given to the Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers Mammethan Chakiyev at the off-site meeting of the Government held in Mary on Thursday.
“Highlighting that the “Balkan” Shipbuilding and Repair Plant Joint Stock Company is one of the main domestic shipbuilding enterprises, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to expand the national marine fleet, mastering the production of various types of ships”, reports the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper today.
The head of Turkmenistan also focused the attention of the head of the Agency on the need to strengthen cooperation with foreign companies engaged in international transportation.
In August last year, the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the country Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited the military unit “Garshy” of the Naval Forces located in the western region and got acquainted with the warship of the corvette class “Deniz han”, built at the ship repair enterprise of the Navy of the Ministry of Defense. Then he took a naval parade in the Caspian. Various types of ships, combat boats and boats of the Naval Forces, the State Border Service, the ministries of internal affairs and national security, which guard the security and integrity of the maritime borders of Turkmenistan, the total length of which is 600 kilometers, were presented at the military review.
