Nissan and Mitsubishi join forces to create a new pickup truck

Japanese automakers Nissan and Mitsubishi Motor Corporation are joining forces to develop a new pickup truck aimed at the US market. According to Automotive News, the collaboration will allow both companies to optimize costs for the design and production of a new generation of pickup truck. Auto.ru reports this.

Nissan will most likely receive a hybrid model based on joint development, which is very popular in the United States. Mitsubishi, in turn, will have access to Nissan's electric vehicle technologies and will be able to create a battery-powered SUV based on the Ariya platform.

A new pickup truck from Nissan and Mitsubishi is expected no earlier than 2027.
