The second section of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway is preparing to open

At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on the 29th of March, the opening ceremony of the Tejen-Mary section of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat high-speed highway was named among the main events of April. The construction of a modern highway and its facilities is being carried out by a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, «Türkmen Awtoban» CJSC, which, in accordance with the best international practice of ITB, signed an agreement with VCE Vienna Consulting Engineers ZT GmbH to control the quality of the work performed.

VCE is an independent, high-tech consulting company headquartered in Austria, which plays the role of Quality Control Engineer (QCE), ensuring that highway construction meets international standards and requirements. Having many years of experience in international projects around the world, the company provides consulting services and technology transfer to «Turkmen Avtoban» CJSC.

The grandiose road and logistics project for the construction of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat high-speed highway is aimed at realizing the geo-economic potential of the country by creating transport and transit corridors, integrating the national transport network into regional and global multimodal communication systems, as well as increasing the role of the private sector in the national economy.

On the 29th of October, 2021, the grand opening of the first 203-kilometer «Ashgabat-Tejen» section of the high-speed road took place. The upcoming opening ceremony of the next section of the highway has already aroused interest in neighboring Uzbekistan, which borders the Lebap velayat of Turkmenistan.
