Sales of Toyota Land Cruiser 250 started in Japan

The long-awaited Toyota Land Cruiser 250 has entered the Japanese market. This new product, which is essentially an updated Land Cruiser Prado J250, introduced in August 2023, has lost the Prado prefix in its name and hybrid modifications. Motor.ru reports this.

Land Cruiser 250 is built on the TNGA-F platform. The length of the SUV is 4,93 meters, the wheelbase is 2,85 meters. The car is available in five- and seven-seat configurations.

Two engine options are offered: a 2,8-liter turbodiesel producing 204 hp. and 500 Nm of torque, and a 2,7-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine developing 163 hp. and 246 Nm. Both engines are mated to automatic transmissions: 8-speed for diesel and 6-speed for gasoline.

The SUV is equipped with permanent all-wheel drive with reduction gear and rear differential lock.

For the Japanese market, a special First Edition is presented, limited to 8000 units.

Prices for the Land Cruiser 250 First Edition start at 7 850 000 yen for the ZX version, making it the most expensive version of the model in Japan.

Unlike the European and Australian Prado, the Land Cruiser 250 does not have a “mild” hybrid. Also missing is the i-Force Max hybrid powertrain offered in the US.
