An agreement to extend the supply of Turkmen electricity to Afghanistan was signed in Ashgabat

In Ashgabat, the Turkmenenergo State Electricity Corporation and Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), the national electricity company of Afghanistan, signed an agreement that extends the contract for the supply of Turkmen electricity in 2023.

As reports TASS, with reference to the Ministry of Water and Energy Supply of Afghanistan, the agreement was signed by the chairman of “Turkmenenergo” and the director general of DABS.

Turkmen electricity is supplied to Afghanistan at preferential prices in several directions, which makes it possible to provide electricity to almost all northern provinces, western and northwestern regions, including the provinces of Herat, Badghis, Jowzjan, Balkh, Faryab, as well as the cities of Mazari-Sharif, Shibergan and others.

Earlier, we reported that in December 2022, the President of Turkmenistan signed a Resolution permitting “Turkmenenergo” to conclude additional agreements to extend the contracts with Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat for sending electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, as well as setting the volume and price of electricity sent.
