New discoveries of Turkmen archaeologists

Under the scientific leadership of the National Administration for the Protection, Study and Restoration of Historical and Cultural Monuments in Turkmenistan, archaeological, research and restoration work is being successfully carried out at sites in all velayats of the country.

As TDH reports, excavations at the Paryzdepe monument in the Geoktepe etrap revealed a unique kariz - an ancient water supply system, confirming the use of this method of hydraulic engineering in the Ahal velayat since ancient times. This topic is covered in detail in the book of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov “Anau - culture from the depths of millennia.”
To publish scientific data collected in recent years, pass them on as a heritage to future generations and familiarize domestic and foreign specialists, specialized works “Antiquities of Turkmenistan”, “Architectural Heritage of Kunyaurgench”, “Historical and Cultural Monuments of Ancient Merv”, “Parthian Fortresses of Nisa”, "Traces of centuries". It is also planned to publish the “State Register of Historical and Cultural Monuments of Turkmenistan.”
As part of agreements with well-known scientific centers, joint archaeological expeditions will continue. In particular, at the Gonur monument the depe is Turkmen-Russian, at the Togolok 1 monument and in the Old Nisa fortress - Turkmen-Italian, at the Dandanakan fortress - Turkmen-American.
