The new Xiaomi SU7 electric car was involved in an accident for the first time

The Xiaomi SU7 electric car was involved in an accident when it collided with a premium Mercedes-Benz. This is the first recorded incident involving an electric car from a Chinese auto giant.
The collision, as gazeta.ru reports, occurred at one of the intersections in Beijing. Photos from the scene of the accident quickly went viral. They show that both cars were seriously damaged. The right side of the Mercedes-Benz was badly damaged: the headlight was broken, the hood was twisted, the bumper and radiator grill were deformed. Xiaomi SU7 also did not escape damage: the right side of the body was dented, the doors were damaged, and the airbags deployed.
According to GizmoChina, the driver of the Xiaomi was the Chinese blogger Big Lizi Qiqili. It was he, according to the police, who caused the accident. The cause of the accident is believed to have been confusion with traffic signals.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the incident.
Big Lizi Qiqili himself, not at a loss, decided to use the situation to evaluate the results of the “crash test” of his electric car. He noted that the emergency call system worked perfectly, and the airbags effectively softened the impact without damaging any of the controls or the multimedia system. The doors, despite the deformation, opened without problems.
