The foreign ministers of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discussed expanding cooperation

During political consultations in Tashkent, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov discussed the further development of Turkmen-Uzbek relations and building up practical interaction in various fields, reports the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

The heads of the foreign affairs departments of the two countries noted the positive dynamics of bilateral ties, emphasizing the key role of high-level visits. During the negotiations, the current state and prospects for cooperation in the political, trade and economic, transport and logistics, energy, industrial and cultural-humanitarian fields were reviewed.

Particular emphasis is placed on intensifying inter-parliamentary dialogue and coordinating efforts within international organizations to ensure regional stability, economic growth and security. The importance of the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission on deepening trade and economic ties was emphasized.

The ministers also exchanged views on holding joint events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.
