Excursion train headed from Ashgabat to the northern region of Turkmenistan

Tonight, a tourist train with participants of a pilot project organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan together with private travel companies of the country left the Ashgabat railway station.

The route includes acquaintance with the sights of Dashoguz and the monuments of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve “Kunyaurgench”, included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.

The purpose of the trip is to work out a tourist route, which provides for acquaintance with natural attractions and historical and cultural monuments of Turkmenistan.

The first participants of the pilot project were more than seventy people - representatives of the sphere of culture and education, private travel companies of the country.

The “steel” version of the route was chosen as the main route along the route. Travelers will spend the night on the train, and during the day they will go on excursions. Comfortable buses will deliver them to the monuments of Kunyaurgench.

Such “immersion” in the landscape environment gives tourists a unique opportunity to imagine both the past and the present of the Great Silk Road.

On November 27, the train will take travelers to Ashgabat.

According to the organizers, in the near future special tourist trains will start running to different regions of the country.

Let us remind that there are about two thousand ancient monuments in Turkmenistan, including those with a thousand-year history. All of them, like dozens of unique natural objects, are desirable places for tourists and are available for acquaintance almost all year round.
